Charles Cope
Mr. Charles Cope has over 25 years of shopping center leasing, management, and development experience. He is a certified leasing specialist and a senior level shopping center manager. Mr. Cope has brought his in-depth knowledge of retailers and restaurateurs to the shopping center and travel retail industries where he has helped to create retail programs that meet the wants and needs of the customers, while at the same time being functional and feasible. Mr. Cope’s involvement with the International Council of Shopping Centers and up-to-date knowledge of the shopping center industry keep AirProjects informed of industry trends and development that enhance our ability to provide fresh insight for each project. Mr. Cope has completed over 260 leases, for more than 2.2 million square feet of space in shopping malls, convenience centers, airports, and office buildings for tenants such as LL Bean, Nordstrom, The Gap, California Pizza Kitchen, Disney, McDonald’s, Crate & Barrel, and Discovery Channel. He served as the General Manager of Tyson’s Corner Center (the 6th largest regional mall in the U.S. located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area) during two separate redevelopment periods over the past 15 years, led a $165 million successful renovation and added over 100 new stores, i-ncluding Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, and LL Bean. He continues to serve in an advisory capacity for Tysons Corner Center and was involved with their most recent theater, retail, and restaurant expansion as well as the planned 3 million-square foot mixed-use development. Mr. Cope’s airport experience includes both planning and developing retail programs at airports such as Reagan Washington National, Washington Dulles International, JFK International, Dane County Regional (Madison, WI), John Wayne, and Baltimore/Washington International.
